Samenvatting

Een goede arts-patiëntrelatie is een essentiële voorwaarde voor de begeleiding van patiënten met SOLK in de huisartsenpraktijk. Met effectieve communicatie en een duidelijke structuur in het consult kan de huisarts patiënten met SOLK de juiste aandacht en zorg geven. Daarmee draagt de huisarts bij aan preventie van chronische klachten, verbetering van welzijn van patiënten en kostenbesparing, door het voorkomen van overbodig medisch specialistisch ingrijpen en iatrogene schade. Een communicatietraining, toegespitst op deze omvangrijke patiëntengroep, maakt artsen vaardiger en beter toegerust in consulten met SOLK-patiënten én is aan te bevelen voor zowel huisarts als medisch specialist. Dit hoofdstuk bevat een samenvatting van inzichten en toepassingen uit wetenschappelijk gefundeerde en effectieve communicatie-interventies die tevens door artsen hoog gewaardeerd zijn vanwege hun praktisch nut.
