In this article, I describe the treatment of a young woman with borderline symptoms by the combination of art therapy in a group setting and a psychodynamic group psychotherapy with a mentalization focus. Through this case presentation, I want to illustrate two important aspects of her treatment:athe way in which a verbal psychodynamic group psychotherapy is intensified and enriched by a non-verbal group;bthe importance of the concept of projective identification for understanding and managing the psychotherapeutic process.
