Deze klinische les toont de valkuilen en moeilijkheden bij het tijdig herkennen van ernstige en/of zeldzame oorzaken van een alledaagse klacht als hoofdpijn. Het ziektebeloop bij een jongvolwassen vrouw met toenemende hoofdpijn na een triviaal fietsongeluk illustreert het belang van een zorgvuldige anamnese en systematische toetsing van de verkregen gegevens aan de differentiaaldiagnose van (primaire en secundaire) hoofdpijn. Alarmsignalen worden toegelicht, met specifieke aandacht voor het voorafgaande trauma. Hoe een klein ongeluk grote gevolgen kan hebben!
