Samenvatting

Driftbuien, ook wel ‛tantrum’ genoemd, zijn korte episodes van extreme, ongecontroleerde en soms agressieve gedragingen in reactie op frustratie of woede. Bij peuters zijn driftbuien een typisch onderdeel van leeftijdgerelateerd gedrag. Na de peutertijd (7–18 jaar) vallen de terugkerende prikkelbaarheid met woedeaanvallen onder de stemmingsstoornissen van de DSM-5.
