Depression relapse prophylaxis with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Replication and extension in the Swiss health care system

Research focus

Mindfulness, derived from Buddhist tradition, is the notion of attending to the present moment and acknowledging any feelings or thoughts that present in a non-judgemental way. It is increasingly being used to alleviate a variety of conditions, including obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety and in the prevention of relapse in depression and drug addiction. This research focus summarises the findings of a recent randomised controlled trial (RCT) and a review on the effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapies for anxiety and depression.
