Award for rapid response

Children’s nurse Pauline Sheridan, ward manager at the children’s unit at Ulster Hospital, was the overall winner of the RCN’s Northern Ireland Nurse of the Year awards. Pauline’s role in the development of same day assessment services and a telephone helpline for parents impressed the judges of the award, which RCN Northern Ireland Board Secretary Frances Donaghy described as an opportunity for nurses to celebrate their profession.
