Glücksspielbezogene Probleme unter Jugendlichen

Eine kritische Auseinandersetzung mit den gängigen Screening-Instrumenten

Published Online:https://doi.org/10.1026/0942-5403/a000143

Gambling-related problems among youths: A critical review of current screening instruments

Commercial gambling products and self-organized forms of gambling are integral components of the life experiences of many adolescents. International as well as national evidence shows that there is an increased risk of developing gambling-related problems during adolescence. However, because of the lack of rigorous psychometric research with regard to adolescent problem gambling assessment tools it remains unclear whether this form of adolescent problem behavior is measured in an appropriate and targeted way or may actually represent (at least partly) a measurement artifact. Therefore, an important goal of future research should be to develop and validate a screening instrument.
