Directe toegang podotherapie nog onbekend bij patiënt; selectief keuzegedrag voor podotherapeut blijft uit

Samenvatting

Sinds 2011 is podotherapie in Nederland direct toegankelijk geworden als gevolg van veranderingen in het gezondheidszorgsysteem en professionalisering van de beroepsgroep. Uit dit eerste onderzoek naar directe toegang van podotherapie blijkt dat, vier jaar na invoering, slechts een klein deel van de patiënten kiest voor directe toegang. Belangrijkste reden is onvoldoende kennis over de mogelijkheid tot directe toegang en het ontbreken van selectief keuzegedrag. Dit blijkt uit het afstudeeronderzoek van podotherapeut Simone Eisses-Panayiotou aan de masteropleiding Health Care & Social Work.
