Diagnostiek van lymeborreliose bij kinderen

Samenvatting

Serologie is de geëigende microbiologische diagnostiek voor het aantonen van lymeborreliose. Naast de traditionele serologische tests is een aantal andere diagnostische modaliteiten ontwikkeld die ingezet worden bij de diagnostiek van infecties met Borrelia burgdorferi. Enkele van deze tests worden uitgevoerd in niet officieel geaccrediteerde laboratoria, soms in het buitenland. Patiënten en collega-artsen hebben vaak vragen over zowel de waarde van deze tests als over de interpretatie van de uitslagen hiervan. In dit artikel wordt een overzicht gegeven van enkele veelgebruikte tests en wordt per test de waarde voor de diagnostiek van lymeborreliose aangegeven.
