Samenvatting

Oncologische diagnostiek moet leiden tot uitspraken over het al of niet aanwezig zijn van een kwaadaardige aandoening, over de uitbreiding van de ziekte, over de prognose en de behandeling. Meestal wordt deze diagnostische informatie waarmee de tumor wordt beschreven samengevat in tumortype, stadiering, prognostische en predictieve kenmerken (tabel 4.1).
