22. Depressie en persoonlijkheidspathologie

Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk worden alle aspecten van comorbiditeit van persoonlijkheidspathologie en depressie behandeld. Allereerst wordt ingegaan op de epidemiologie: deze vorm van comorbiditeit komt zeer frequent voor en heeft dan ook belangrijke consequenties. Vervolgens wordt ingegaan op de causale modellen en de verschillende concepten van persoonlijkheidspathologie in relatie tot depressie aan de hand van de historische ontwikkelingen. Dan volgen de verschillende behandelmogelijkheden voor patiënten met deze vorm van comorbiditeit en de resultaten ervan. Achtereenvolgens worden de resultaten van farmacotherapie, psychotherapie, gecombineerde therapie en ECT gepresenteerd. Dan volgen richtlijnen voor de klinische praktijk, eerst voor diagnostiek en indicatiestelling, waarbij tevens gewezen wordt op het belang van overige parameters zoals het sociaal functioneren en de kwaliteit van leven. Tot slot volgen richtlijnen voor de behandeling met een algoritme voor de behandeling van patiënten met comorbide persoonlijkheidsstoornis en depressie.
