De signalering van externaliserende stoornissen door Nederlandse, Marokkaanse, Turkse en Surinaamse ouders

Samenvatting

Doel van dit onderzoek was om na te gaan in hoeverre de etnische achtergrond van ouders van invloed is op het signaleren van externaliserende stoornissen bij kinderen. Gebruik is gemaakt van 269 psychiatrische onderzoeken bij kinderen, 257 interviews met één van hun ouders of beide ouders en 269 vragenlijsten die door de leraar van de betreffende kinderen is ingevuld. Deze data zijn afkomstig uit een groter onderzoek onder Nederlandse, Marokkaanse, Turkse en Surinaamse kinderen in de leeftijd van zes tot en met elf jaar. De signalering van externaliserende stoornissen was onder alle ouders laag, maar beduidend lager onder Marokkaanse en Surinaamse ouders dan onder Nederlandse ouders. Het verschil tussen Nederlandse en Turkse ouders was niet significant.
