3. De ongecompliceerde zwangerschap

Samenvatting

Iedere vrouw start haar vruchtbare levensfase met ongeveer een half miljoen geslachtscellen en heeft in haar vruchtbare leven ongeveer 450 ovulaties. Slechts een aantal malen zal een eicel bevrucht worden en ontstaat een zwangerschap.
Dit hoofdstuk gaat over de:
  • fysiologie van de voortplanting;
  • foetale groei en ontwikkeling;
  • functie van de placenta, vliezen en navelstreng;
  • fysiologische aanpassingen aan de zwangerschap.
