16. De invloed van medicatie en chirurgische ingrepen op de doorbloeding van orale weefsels

Inleiding

Om beter inzicht in de dynamiek van schade aan en herstel van orale weefsels te verkrijgen, wordt er in de tandheelkunde steeds meer gebruikgemaakt van onderzoek naar de doorbloeding van deze weefsels. In 1661 ontdekte Malpighi de haarvaten die slagaders met aders verbinden (capillairen). Tegenwoordig kan de doorbloeding van het capillairbed met optische spectroscopische technieken worden bestudeerd.
