Samenvatting

Onder n=1 onderzoek verstaan we een proces van wetenschappelijke kennisverwerving bij één individu. Het intensief en systematisch bestuderen van een individuele cliënt is echter niet alleen interessant vanuit wetenschappelijk oogpunt, maar ook voor de diagnostiek en de behandeling. In dit artikel wordt in grote lijnen beschreven wat er zoal komt kijken bij het uitvoeren van n=1 onderzoek in de klinische psychiatrie. De lezer wordt geattendeerd op de merites van deze benadering en maakt kennis met de n=1 methodologie in de diagnostiek en bij het evalueren van een interventie met behulp van de tijdreeksmethode.
