Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk richten we ons op de oncologische beeldvorming van vier veelvoorkomende tumoren in de klinische praktijk: het prostaatcarcinoom, het rectumcarcinoom, het longcarcinoom en het mammacarcinoom. Een casusbespreking van elk van deze tumoren illustreert de rol van de radiologie en nucleaire geneeskunde, en ook de variatie van beeldvormende modaliteiten in de klinische praktijk. Tevens wordt inzicht verkregen in welke modaliteit het meest geschikt is voor de lokale tumorstadiëring, en in de stadiëring van locoregionale lymfeklier- en afstandsmetastasen.
