Cognitieve gedragstherapie voor jonge kinderen met selectief mutisme

samenvatting

‘Spreekt voor zich’ is een programma dat is ontwikkeld voor de behandeling van kinderen met selectief mutisme. Het is een ‘blended’ interventie, die bestaat uit een combinatie van online elementen, een beveiligd webportaal, een computerspel met een therapeutisch doel en persoonlijk contact met een therapeut. Tijdens de interventie wordt het spreken op school uitgedaagd, maar ook de onderliggende angststoornis behandeld, omdat follow-upstudies laten zien dat veel kinderen met selectief mutisme op latere leeftijd nog altijd kampen met angstklachten. Aan de hand van een praktijkvoorbeeld wordt in dit artikel het programma ‘Spreekt voor zich’ toegelicht.

‘Spreekt voor zich’ is ontwikkeld door Maretha de Jonge en gerealiseerd door de Stichting Behandeling selectief mutisme. Jessica de Pagter en Hilde van Braam van Vloten-Hairwassers maken deel uit van het bestuur van de Stichting Behandeling selectief mutisme. Het bestuur bestaat verder uit ouders van kinderen met selectief mutisme en onafhankelijke bestuursleden. De kosten voor onderhoud, IT-service, webhosting en administratie worden deels gedragen door de gebruikers (60 euro eigen bijdrage per kind) en voor het overige deel bij elkaar gebracht door donateurs en vrienden van de stichting behandeling selectief mutisme. De stichting heeft geen winstoogmerk. De initiatiefnemer en bestuursleden worden niet betaald voor hun werk. Zie voor meer informatie www.spreektvoorzich.nl.
