Samenvatting

Een CVA ontstaat plotseling en heeft grote impact op het leven. Een snelle diagnose is van belang om de gevolgen zo veel mogelijk te beperken. Direct na de diagnose volgen behandeling en revalidatie. Technologie is onontbeerlijk voor de diagnostiek, met name voor het maken van onderscheid tussen een zogenoemde ‘bloedig’ en ‘niet-bloedig’ CVA. In de revalidatie wordt technologie ingezet voor het monitoren van bewegen en het ondersteunen van de oefeningen op het gebied van motoriek en spraak. Oefenen met behulp van virtual reality is volop in ontwikkeling.
