Cognitieve veranderingen tijdens exposure in vivo

Een promotieonderzoek naar procesvariabelen

Samenvatting

Exposure in vivo is een veelgebruikte procedure voor de behandeling van fobische klachten. Hoewel exposure in vivo op groepsniveau leidt tot significante klinische verbeteringen, profiteert ongeveer 25% van de patiënten niet of minder van deze behandeling. Het doel van het hier gepresenteerde promotieonderzoek was meer inzicht te krijgen in de (cognitieve) processen die mogelijk ten grondslag liggen aan de angstreductie tijdens exposure in vivo. In een klinische groep patiënten met paniekstoornis en agorafobie zijn een aantal modellen, die de angstreductie tijdens exposure in vivo pogen te verklaren, bestudeerd.
