11. Cognitieve therapie bij eetstoornissen en obesitas

Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk bespreken wij de basis van cognitieve therapie voor anorexia nervosa, boulimia nervosa, eetbuistoornis en obesitas. Eerst volgt een korte beschrijving van de eetstoornissen. Vervolgens wordt het cognitieve model gepresenteerd, waarna niet alleen voorbeelden van cognitieve therapie, maar ook van ‘cognitive behavior therapy – enhanced’ (CGT-E) worden gegeven. Behalve cognitieve interventies is er ook veel aandacht voor brede gedragstherapie, zoals dieetmanagement, zelfcontroletechnieken, exposure, copingstrategieën, psycho-educatie en het aanleren van probleemoplossende vaardigheden. Het hoofdstuk eindigt met een overzicht van het onderzoek naar de effectiviteit van cognitieve therapie bij eetstoornissen en obesitas.
