14. Cognitieve therapie bij auditief verbale hallucinaties en wanen

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk laat zien dat wanen en hallucinaties voorkomen in de bevolking zonder stoornis en bij alle stoornissen vormen zij een markering van ernst. Als wanen en hallucinaties samenkomen en er lijdensdruk is, en het gedrag afgestemd wordt op de inhoud van wanen en hallucinaties, dan is er pas sprake van een psychotische stoornis. De prevalentie en etiologie van hallucinaties en wanen worden behandeld en daaropvolgend het cognitief model van wanen en hallucinaties. Vervolgens worden de eigenlijke behandeling met cognitieve gedragstherapie en de thema’s die daarbij aan de orde komen beschreven. De mogelijke valkuilen voor de therapeut komen aan bod. Tot slot wordt de wetenschappelijke evidentie voor de effectiviteit van cognitieve gedragstherapie bij hallucinaties en wanen behandeld.
