Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk worden de technische en klinische aspecten behandeld van de mechanische ondersteuning van een falende circulatie met behulp van uitwendige en implanteerbare ‘ventricular assist devices’ (VAD’s). De meest toegepaste VAD’s zullen worden besproken.
