Abstract
The liberal democratic peace is best described as a confluence of behaviour, attitudes and structural factors that encourage a particular type of peace and peacemaking. It can be identified through its possession of five core elements:

means or methodology;

core components (distinctive forms of liberalism and democracy);

nature of its principal actors and sponsors;

●
ideological perspective;

●
type of peace effected.
