Abstract
This final chapter summarizes and concludes the book. First of all, I review the research rationale and aims and how they are addressed through the findings. Second, I link the discussion of findings and theory to the particular context of contemporary China. The findings are examined in relationship to three theoretical and conceptual frameworks that informed the study: individualization and collectivism; fathering and care; and family negotiations. Lastly, I provide some suggestions for future directions in research.
