Abstract
While much of the research has focused on individual factors impacting school belonging, such factors are shaped and interact with social factors. It is clear from the literature that social factors matter in respect to how connected adolescence feel to their school, with teachers having the strongest effect, for good or for bad. Parents and peers also matter. In this chapter, we explore practical ways in which teacher, parent and peer support can foster school belonging.
