Abstract
If educational research is to play a role in educational reform then it is imperative that there is a cadre of good educational researchers in the country concerned and that there is a healthy relationship between those in a position to ensure change in an education system and the researchers. Education is not a discipline in itself but rather an amalgam of various other disciplines in the social sciences: psychology, sociology, economics and so on. The organisation of education is concerned with the learning and socialisation of children and adults living within the boundaries of the country.
