Abstract
In this paper I analyze everyday conceptions of being emotional. Like many emotion terms, “being emotional” can designate either an existing psychological state or a general disposition or trait to experience this state. In this paper I concentrate on being emotional in the sense of a psychological state because it seems the more foundational sense, being part of the definition of the trait.
