Abstract
Psychophysiological measures can be used to illuminate the role of motor system activity in chronometric paradigms and, in particular, in studies of stimulus-response compatibility. These measures provide more or less direct access to those covert response processes that are proposed in various theories of stimulus-response compatibility (e.g., Kornblum, Hasbroucq, & Osman, 1990).
