Abstract
Studies are reviewed on the Mexican-American fathers’ involvement in their children’s literacy development. The family support system, the Mexican-American fathers, and literacy experiences are described. The father’s contributions to the family, educational background, involvement, literacy practices, and literacy roles that affect the children’s academic achievement are discussed. A variety of that are used. Recommendations for researchers and educators on the Mexican-American fathers’ literacy involvement are provided.
