Abstract
The main focus of this chapter is the type of support women accessed when they were depressed and the women’s and their partners’ perceptions of the efficacy of different biopsychosocial treatments for PND. This is followed by a discussion of the barriers to accessing support. Finally, the chapter is closed with a discussion of women’s experiences of reaching resolution where they feel comfortable with themselves as mothers and in their relationships with others. “Resolution” seems a more appropriate term than “recovery” as it implies that there has been a journey that shapes the individual, such as personal growth. Women’s journeys to resolution incorporate women’s drawings and statements to provide rich accounts of their lived experience, and these also include the partners’ perspectives.
