Zusammenfassung
Verhaltensmedizin ist ein interdisziplinärer Wissenschaftsbereich, der sich auf die Anwendung der Verhaltenstherapie in der Medizin bezieht. Die Grundlage der Verhaltensmedizin bildet die empirische Auseinandersetzung mit Gesundheit und Krankheit. Es werden biologische, psychische und soziale Faktoren zur Erklärung der Entstehung und/oder Aufrechterhaltung von Gesundheit und Krankheit berücksichtigt. Zentrale Konzepte der Verhaltensmedizin sind Stress, Stressbewältigung und Umgang mit somatischen Erkrankungen. Differenzialdiagnostische Methoden umfassen biologische und psychologische Verfahren. Dazu gehören Hormonmessungen, psychophysiologische Messungen, Fragebogen, Interviews, Verhaltensanalysen. Therapeutische Maßnahmen wie Biofeedbackverfahren und kognitiv-verhaltenstherapeutische Techniken dienen der Prävention, Intervention und Rehabilitation.
