The Scapula and Pelvis

  • Chapter
PNF in Practice

Abstract

Exercise of the scapula and pelvis is important for treatment of the neck, the trunk, and the extremities. Although the scapula is not directly attached to the spine, the scapular muscles control or influence the function of the cervical and thoracic spine. Proper function of the upper extremities requires both motion and stability of the scapula. Pelvic motion and stability are required for proper function of the trunk and the lower extremities.
