So gesehen handelt es sich um eine der frühesten Studien mit dem Anspruch, Texte und Bedeutungszusammenhänge als soziale Netzwerke zu analysieren. Für die SNA galten Sinn und Bedeutung in den 1970ern noch als zweitrangig. Die Erfassung und Analyse von Bindungsmustern bzw. von sozialer Struktur wurde für wichtiger gehalten.
