Abstract
Incubators were first used for the care of preterm infants in the middle of the nineteenth century [1, 2]. In the ensuring years, much has been learned about the safe and effective use of incubators to provide the thermal support needed by preterm and sick infants [3, 4]. In the past 25 years, open radiant warmers have also been found to provide a safe, effective thermal environment for such infants.
