Abstract

Pain is a necessary signal to the patient. It is the body’s way of saying, “Understand me, learn how to deal with me.” There is no virtue in putting up with pain, and no reward. To learn to understand it, to try to reduce it or avoid it altogether is absolutely normal. If pain persists even during truly lift-free mobilization of the spinal column, movement is contraindicated.
