Zusammenfassung

Die Bedeutung der Entwicklungspsychologie als Grundlage für die Klinische Psychologie wird je nach Therapierichtung und der ihr zugrunde liegenden Theorie unterschiedlich eingeschätzt. Freud hat bekanntlich die gesamte Psychotherapie und das Verständnis der Genese von Störungen auf einer Theorie der menschlichen Entwicklung aufgebaut. Sein Hauptverdienst heute liegt sicher in seinem methodischen Vorgehen, ein Krankheits- oder Störungsbild aus der vorausgegangenen Entwicklung der Persönlichkeit zu erklären.
