Der Begriff »Neuropsychologie« wurde vermutlich zum ersten Mal Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts in einer Rede von William Ostler bei der Eröffnung einer psychiatrischen Klinik am Johns Hopkins Krankenhaus verwendet (Bruce, 1985).
