Zusammenfassung

Aus den wenigen bislang vorliegenden Untersuchungen (Gilchrist et al. 2001; Starr et al. 2003; s. u.) ist bekannt, dass der Verlauf des Asperger- Syndroms ein anderer ist als beim frühkindlichen Autismus: Während bei Kindern mit einem frühkindlichen Autismus schon im 2. Lebensjahr autistische Symptome bemerkbar werden, sind die Symptome des Asperger-Syndroms erst etwa ab dem 3. Lebensjahr erkennbar. Zwar kommen auch vor dem 3. Lebensjahr schon einige unspezifische Symptome, wie beispielsweise Hyperaktivität, mangelnde Aufmerksamkeit, auff älliges Schlafverhalten oder auch Essverhalten usw. vor, die autistische Symptomatik im Sinne eines auff älligen Interaktionsverhalten ist zu dieser Zeit aber noch nicht beobachtbar, da der Aufb au von Beziehungen auch bei gesunden Kindern im Alter von 3 Jahren nicht leicht zu beurteilen ist. Die Sprachentwicklung der Kinder mit Asperger-Syndrom setzt früher oder altersentsprechend ein, so dass in dieser Beziehung für die Eltern im 2.
