Abstract
According to the author of this chapter, experts in the psychological and educational assessment of deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HoH) clients have long recommended the use of nonverbal assessment approaches. In fact, most experts would argue that they are essential tools in the psychological and educational assessment of any D/HoH client. However, these assessment strategies, while necessary, are not sufficient. Emerging low-inference, high-context approaches may provide stronger evidence of positive outcomes for individual (and eventually, groups of) D/HoH clients.
