Abstract
Action control does not end with preparing an action and initiating its execution. In this chapter, we explain how people keep track of their ongoing action, how they find out that they have committed an error, and what kind of errors they commit. We also describe the functional and neural processes underlying error monitoring, and the way people can learn from their errors.
