Abstract
The focus of this portion of the book is on the commonalities that were evident in the school shootings. Some of the most frequent commonalities include the shooter breaking up with a girlfriend, coming from a difficult home situation, and receiving a bad grade at school. Other frequent commonalities including obvious warning signs on which almost no one in authority took action, and the shooters being people who lacked love, character, and compassion. Half the shooters were mentally ill, many played bloody video games, and others had an obsession with guns. A number of shooters found the practice and reality of evil very attractive. The author notes that by pointing out the commonalities, one can begin to determine the most efficacious solutions.
