Abstract
This chapter addresses how health insurance reform—principally through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)—has affected the Latinx population in the USA. Described first are issues that this population faced in obtaining insurance coverage before implementation of the ACA in 2014. Then, details are given on how the ACA improves insurance coverage for Latinx persons but also on how it falls short in achieving universal coverage. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion of the uncertain future of the ACA and health insurance reform.
