Abstract

This chapter examines critical issues in women’s behavioral health from an interdisciplinary public health perspective. The content discusses some of the major concerns in improving women’s health outcomes, including a discussion of current challenges in prevention and treatment of HIV, postpartum depression, and trauma-informed care, which are significant public health concerns. The chapter concludes with an Implications for Behavioral Health section, discussing the relevance of each issue to the overall field of women’s behavioral health and health-care policy.
