Abstract
Experiencing some psychological difficulties in the aftermath of a traumatic event is a common response; one-third of trauma survivors experience symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that remit by one month post-trauma (Committee on Treatment of Posttraumtic Stress Disorder & Institute of Medicine in Treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder: An assessment of the evidence.
