Abstrait

Le réseau FRANCIM a mis en œuvre un projet d’observatoire des principales pathologies cancéreuses en France, de façon à fournir aux autorités sanitaires les éléments nécessaires à une politique efficace de prise en charge de ces cancers. Il fournit les données d’incidence du cancer en France, grâce à l’activité d’enregistrement de plus de vingt registres départementaux à travers la France. L’ensemble des données d’incidence est centralisé au sein d’une base commune située aux Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL), et administrée conjointement depuis 2005 par le réseau FRANCIM, les Hospices Civils de Lyon et l’Institut National de Veille Sanitaire. Le réseau s’est par ailleurs fixé d’autres objectifs épidémiologiques, dont l’estimation de la survie des patients atteints de cancer et l’étude des pratiques de soins pour les cancers les plus fréquents (sein, côlon-rectum, prostate, sphère oto-rhino-laryngologique et poumon).
