Abstract
After giving his diagnostic formulations, Dr.Levinson says of his patient, “I was intrigued by her keen intellect and curiosity. She was a woman who suddenly recognized that her itinerant life-style had caused her to ‘race through life’ without experiencing many of its significant pleasures—particularly a lasting (and sustaining) relationship with children and grandchildren. How could that have happened? she asked. Was it too late to do anything about it? Here was an introspective bud that might blossom in a conducive setting. Could it happen in one so old? I decided to try.”
