Abstract

In PCIT, treatment is considered complete only when most or all of the presenting problems have been resolved or substantially improved. Once the therapist and family agree that this point has been reached, a posttreatment feedback session is scheduled. In this session, the therapist and the family review therapy progress, discuss strategies for addressing any remaining problems, and decide on a schedule for maintenance or “booster” sessions.
