Abstract
Proceeding from Pavlov’s theses concerning the unity and interconnection of the two signal systems—visual-concrete and speech [119: 476]—it may be assumed that they act jointly not only in the case of abstract, verbal thinking but also in the case of so-called objective, or concrete, thinking which operates directly with the material being perceived (usually of the visual, graphic type); the results of this type of thinking, too, can be expressed in a first signal, graphically perceived form.
