Abstract

The framework proposed for this study was drawn from two areas of literature, role theory and communications theory. Both of these theories emphasize the importance of the interactional process occurring between two or more individuals; both theories suggest mutual involvement, influence, and alteration between participants (“actor” and “audience”).
