Pathology of the Conduction System

  • Chapter
Cardiology in Old Age

Abstract

Any review of the pathology of the conduction system in old age can only begin with the changes that are so universal as to be regarded as “normal.” These changes are so striking in the conduction system that it seems likely they form the background to those age-related ECG changes that do not alter life expectancy recorded in clinical studies (Caird et al. 1974, Golden and Golden 1974).
